Bangladesh introduces commemorative 70-taka note

The Bangladesh Bank has introduced a new banknote of 70 taka to commemorate the nation's development.

The front of the note shows the portrait of the Father of the Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the National Martyrs' Memorial, the Betbunia Satellite Center and the map of Bangladesh. The back shows the portrait of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the Bangabandhu-1 Satellite, which will be the first satellite of Bangladesh scheduled to be launched in April 2018, and the Padma Bridge which is currently under construction and expected to be finished at the end of 2020.
