Yemen has two new banknotes? reports that in the war-torn nation of Yemen new banknotes of 500- and 5,000-rial have been reported. The banknote of 500-rial is supposedly ordered by the Central Bank of Yemen for general circulation. This note might have been printed in Russia. In 2014 the director of Goznak gave an interview claiming that Yemen was one of the countries they printed banknotes for so perhaps they are the printer.

The 5,000-rial note is supposedly issued by a rival bank in the northern part of the country. This note has also been printed in Russia. Maybe also by Goznak? A very strange situation indeed.
