Benedictus XVI... Toen ik de naam hoorde, viel ik bijna van mijn stoel. Niet omdat het kardinaal Ratzinger is geworden, dat zat er wel in. Maar meer omdat ik de naam al eerder was tegengekomen in een ander document. Een document uit het jaar 1139... Toen heeft St. Malachy O'Morgair, aartsbisschop van Armagh in Ierland, een lijst opgesteld van alle pausen die nog moeten komen. In gecodeerde omschrijvingen heeft hij de komende pausen voorspeld. Tot nu toe klopte het heel aardig. En wat schreef hij over de opvolger van Johannes Paulus II? Deze omschreef hij als "Gloria olivæ", de glorie van de olijf. Een vredespaus. The Benedictine order traditionally said this Pope would come from their order.Benedictijnse order ... Benedictus XVI.
Maar het gaat verder! Een andere verklaring voor de term "gloria olivæ":
